If you were hoping to play Subnautica 2 on handhelds like the Steam Deck, you should be able to do so without much trouble at the Early Access release. The game is due to arrive on May 14th so there’s not long to go!
What is Subnautica 2? It’s an underwater survival adventure game set on an all-new alien world. It is the next chapter in the Subnautica universe, developed by Unknown Worlds. In the latest developer video (below), their design lead Anthony Gallegos goes over some of what to expect from the Early Access launch. You can see their studio playing on Steam Decks multiple times in the video and Gallegos mentions directly: “If you’re planning to join the early access journey on Xbox Series consoles, ROG Xbox Ally series, or Steam Deck, you’re good to go”.
